5 Routines to Be a Better Morning Person

Honestly when that alarm goes off early in the morning, the last thing I wanna do is abandon my beautiful sleep and wake up. But every single time, after waking up and performing some healthy morning routines, I feel so refreshed and ready to take on the day.

1. Wake Up to Upbeat and Exciting Music

Set your alarm tone to some exciting music that makes you feel both happy and upbeat. Most smart phones have this capability; however, you can also manually turn on the radio after waking up. Something about waking up to happy music will kick your day to very good start.

CHALLENGE #1: DO NOT CHECK OR GO THROUGH YOUR PHONE!

2. Make Your Bed

This sounds so simple or even silly, but making your bed every morning creates a small sense of accomplishment and organization that sets a positive tone to the rest of the day. It also helps you stay out of it because chances of you falling back into a bed you just made are less likely.

3. Wash/Moisturize Your Face

Skin care is always important; however, the freshness of some facial scrubs and moisturizers are a sweet wake up scent in the morning. The water, combined with skin care products, will not only wake you up completely, but will also leave you feeling clean and ready for the day.

4. Go For A Short Walk

If you have a dog, that should certainly make it easier to keep up this routine. Take your pup out for a small walk and potty in the morning; if no fur friend, take a short walk around the neighborhood for a very refreshing start to your day.

CHALLENGE #2: TAKE A MORNING WALK AT LEAST 3 TIMES PER WEEK

5. Drink A Healthy Beverage

Not coffee. I know, I lost a lot of you there. While I am not suggesting you cut coffee back cold turkey, I am suggesting you reduce intake and supplement with a healthy morning beverage instead. Smoothies, juices, infused waters, herbal tea, etc. are good substitutes for coffee.

CHALLENGE #3: DRINK AT LEAST 1/2 A GALLON OF WATER EACH DAY, TO START
